Vitamin D

Vitamin D mushrooms taste just like regular brown mushrooms, but have the benefit of providing 100% of the recommended daily amount of vitamin D in just three mushrooms (According to The European Food Information Council).

Vitamin D is commonly referred to as the ‘sunshine vitamin’ because our bodies produce it naturally when we are exposed to sunlight. During the winter months, there’s not enough sunshine for our bodies to produce vitamin D naturally, and the only other option is to get it from our food or by taking supplements.

Monaghan has crafted a unique process to enhance vitamin D2 content in mushrooms, by mimicking the production of vitamin D2 that occurs in mushrooms exposed to sunlight in their natural environment. We give the mushrooms light and through a natural process they make vitamin D, just like wild outdoor grown mushrooms.

Mushroom Powder (Dried)

We produce vitamin D enhanced mushroom powder which provides a convenient way to obtain vitamin D from a plant-based source. It’s the only non-animal source of vitamin D, suitable for flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans.

Our vitamin D enhanced mushroom powder is suitable for use in tablets, capsules and powder blends as well as foods.

Our current powder has 7,500 IU/g but please contact us about your specific requirements.
